THE APPROACH
On land just outside of Eugene, Oregon, Curt designed a home that fit into the neighborhood as well as its forested surroundings. When the property was purchased, it had an uninhabitable house in the ideal location of the new house. Along the way, he:

Created a design that suits the landscape. The house and outbuildings were designed to fit in with the land’s rolling hills, seasonal creeks, and pine groves. The house invites daylight and views, connecting the indoors to the outdoors.
Reduced the impact and got the community involved. Curt designed a house that integrated with the property and reused existing systems, including a well and a septic system. Rather than tear down the house, it was donated to Lane Fire Authority for training in a live practice burn.
Managed the project to build quickly. Curt and his team designed and built the house and barn within a year. It rained for most of that time, leaving just three months for construction. Curt managed the project to help the construction team stay on schedule while keeping the quality high and staying within budget.

THE IMPACT
With a Pacific Northwest vibe and a commanding presence on the property, the house is now a vibrant part of the neighborhood.
